David A. McKenzie, CAE, Reimbursement Director for the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is the staff contact for the AMA RVS Update Committee (RUC) and the CPT Advisory Committee. In this capacity he attends both RUC and CPT meetings along with ACEP physician representatives to advocate on behalf of emergency medicine.

Mr. McKenzie is the staff liaison for both the national ACEP Reimbursement and Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committees. He is also staff liaison for the ACEP Freestanding Emergency Center Section and numerous Task Forces. He is a nationally known speaker on emergency medicine reimbursement and coding issues and has guided the content planning of the ACEP Reimbursement and Coding Courses. Along with ACEP committee members he is responsible for the educational material found on the ACEP web site. He is a frequent contributor to ACEP publications and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of ED Coding Alert. He is the recipient of the CPT Specialty Society Staff Liaison Excellence Award for 2018.
